Redeemer Bible Church of the Valley

Our Covenant

Having been brought by God’s grace to repent and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, we now, depending upon the Holy Spirit, establish this covenant with one another as one body in Christ.
Commitment to Mission

We commit to be and make disciples who apply the gospel to every area of life by loving God with all our hearts and loving our neighbors as ourselves.

Commitment to Love

We commit to guard our Spirit-given unity [in the truth]. We will watch over one another in brotherly love, humbly give and receive admonishment lest we become hardened by the deceitfulness of sin, and consider how to encourage one another to love and good works. We will be slow to take offense and always ready for reconciliation. We will carry each other’s burdens, rejoicing with those who rejoice and weeping with those who weep.

Commitment to the Body

We commit to regularly gather together and pray for one another. We will work together for the advancement of this gospel church as we support and treasure its worship, ordinances, discipline, and doctrines. We will welcome and biblically test Scriptural instruction from the elders of the church. We will contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the gospel to all nations.

Commitment to Testimony

We commit to pursue self-controlled, righteous, godly living in this world, denying ungodliness and worldly passions.

We commit to train our children in the faith and to seek the salvation of our family and friends by righteous living and loving proclamation of the gospel.

Commitment to Endurance

We will, when we move from this place, unite as soon as possible with a church where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God’s Word.

Conclusion

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all. Amen.
